Grassroots Football Day observed

BHAKTAPUR: All Nepal Football Association marked the AFC Grassroots Football Day here on Sunday. A total of 160 children from 16 different schools participated in the programme. Each team consisted of 10 students, including three girls. The participants were given basic drills by coaches who have specialised in grassroots football. ANFA CEO Indra Man Tuladhar said the purpose of the festival was to let children enjoy the game at an early age. AFC Coaching Instructor Vincent Subramania said “the president of AFC Sheikh Salman feels that in order to enjoy success at the highest level of football, there is strong need to develop the game from grassroots.” ANFA Grassroots Director Upendra Man Singh said the purpose and concept of such grassroots football day was to let the children enjoy the sport.
