JHAPA: Hosts Satasidham Sporting Club defeated Church Boys of Kathmandu 3-0 and advanced to the semi-finals of the second Satakshi Gold Cup Football Tournament here on Thursday.

After a goalless first half, Bimal Gharti Magar scored a brace, while Sunil Bal netted one for the hosts. Gharti Magar opened the scoring nine minutes into the second half following a cross from Tirtha Basnet, while Bal converted a free kick to double the tally in the 66th minute.

National team striker Gharti Magar then dodged as many as three defenders before firing home to put the issue beyond doubt in the 81st minute.

Gharti Magar was named the man of the match and he received Rs 10,000 sponsored by Mahalaxmi Pvt Ltd. On Friday, Morang-XI will take on Rupandehi-XI.
