HWHC overwhelm Kathmandu Valley
Kathmandu, January 18:
Himalayan White House College (HWHC) recorded a 98-run win over Kathmandu Valley College and Kantipur City College (KCC) beat Hilbert International College by six wickets at the National Campus Twenty20 Inter-college Cricket Tournament here today.
Man of the match Subhash Khakurel struck a half century (63) as HWHC scored 172-6 in their allotted 20 overs. Sujin Adhikari made 30 and Diwas Thakuri 22. Sunil Lama took 3-25 from four overs for Kathmandu Valley.
Kathmandu Valley were all out for 74 in 15.5 overs with Avilash Adhikari top-scoring with 21 runs. Dipesh Dutta and Chitiz Singh took three wickets each and Sharad Vesawkar claimed two for HWHC.
In another match, Hilbert scored 150-7 batting first. Akshya Shrestha scored 33 while Raju Thapa and Dipankar Yonzon contributed 28 and 26 respectively. Amit Alok claimed two wickets for KCC.
In reply, KCC scored 153-4 in 18.3 overs. Shibu Budhathoki top-scored with 38 runs for KCC. Man of the match Ram Naresh scored unbeaten 31 off 19 balls and Karan Chand 25 not out. Dipankar Yonjon took three wicket for Hilbert.
East West triumph
Kathmandu: Nitesh Lochar guided East West Club to an emphatic 220-run over Kirtipur Cricket Club and New Vision beat Baglung Cricket Club by 90 runs in the Twenty20 Open Cricket Tournament here today.
Yaswant Subedi scored quickfire 47 as East West accumulated 244-6. Manoj Baishya made 35 not out off 24 balls and Manu Kapoor 32 from 19 balls.
In reply, Kirtipur Club were bundled out for 22 runs in 7.3 overs thanks to a seven-wicket haul (7-10) from Lochar.
In the second match, New Vision scored 145-5 with Rohan Jha scoring 49 runs. Dhiraj Gyawali made 34 runs. In reply, Baglung were out for 55 runs in 14.5 overs. Ram Chaudhary claimed 5-9 for New Vision.
