ICC World Cricket League championship: Nepal set 225-run target against PNG

KATHMANDU: Nepal set a target of 225 runs against Papua New Guinea during their second match of the ICC World Cricket League championship being played at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.

Winning the toss, Nepal elected to bat first and made 224/8 runs in 50 overs.

Captain Paras Khadka top-scored 58 runs off 81 for his team.

Similarly, Sagar Pun contributed 47 runs, Sharad Veswkar scored 42 runs, Gyanendra Malla 36 runs and Mehboob Alam 15 runs while  other batsmen failed to score double digit for Nepal.

In the previous match played at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi of United Arab Emirates on Monday, PNG defeated Nepal by two wickets.

Nepal are at the bottom of the eight-team standings, while PNG are at the seventh position.
