KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 25

Nepal suffered an eight-wicket defeat against the Netherlands in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 series held on Sunday.

The Netherlands successfully chased the target of 173 runs within 37.5 overs, losing just two wickets.

Bikram Jeet Singh led the Netherlands to victory with the highest contribution of 58 runs. Nepal's Lalit Rajbanshi and Dipendra Singh Airi managed to take one wicket each.

In the match held at the TU Cricket Ground, Nepal batted first and scored 172 runs, losing all wickets in 49.3 overs. Kushal Bhurtel top-scored for Nepal with 66 runs, supported by Karan KC with 26 runs and Arif Shekh with 22 runs.

This encounter marks the second time Nepal has faced the Netherlands in the series, which also includes Namibia. In their first match on February 17, Nepal secured a victory over the Netherlands by 9 wickets.

Following the recent win, the Netherlands has accumulated four points, while Namibia holds six points. Nepal currently ranks third among the three teams with 2 points.
