India claim series

LALITPUR: India clean swept the Indo-Nepal Standing Cricket Series here on Tuesday.

India beat Nepal by 28 runs in the third and final match of the series at the St Xavier’s School grounds. Batting first, India posted 156-8 in their allotted 20 overs and packing Nepal to 127 runs.

Imran Mallik top scored for India with 52 runs, while Tabez Ansari took three wickets for Nepal. In reply, Chhabi Dhobi scored 41 runs and Ansari added 16 for Nepal.

India had defeated Nepal by 61 runs in the first match before registering a six-wicket victory in the second game.

Imran Mallik of India was named the man-of-thematch and also bagged the player-ofthe-series award. India skipper Yadunder Singh Khera was declared the best batsman, while Nepal’s Tabrez Ansari received the best bowler’s award.

Sushil Koirala Foundation Member Secretary Atul Koirala, former Vice-president of Cricket Association of Nepal Upendra Bhattarai and Wheelchair Cricket Association Nepal President Chhultim Lama handed over the prizes to the winners.
