Indian Embassy win inaugural clash

Kathmandu, October 20:

Defending champions Indian Embassy and Standard Chartered Bank won three matches on the inaugural day of the Soaltee Crowne Plaza Super Sixes today.

At TU Stadium, Indian Embassy defeated The Himalayan Bank by five wickets. Put into bat first, The Himalayan Bank scored 54-3 and Indian Embassy overcame the target losing one wicket in 4.5 overs.

Nayan Kumar Singh scored an unbeaten 24 for the winners. Bhola Bista scored 18 and former national team skipper Pawan Das scored 13 off nine balls for The Himalayan Bank.

In other matches, Indian Embassy beat Everest Bank by five wickets and Citizen Bank by four wickets to top Group A with six points.

Indian Embassy restricted Everest Bank for 53-4 and reached 51-1 in 3.3 overs. Alok Kumar scored an unbeaten 29 after taking two wickets for the winners. Sujit Gyawali scored 14 for Everest Bank.

In their third match, Indian Embassy restricted Citizen Bank for 46-3. Sanjeev Shrestha scored

15 for Citizen bank. Nayan Kumar Singh remained unbeaten on 23 as Indian Embassy reached

47-2 in 4.4 overs.

In Group B, Standard Chartered beat Bottlers Nepal by six wickets, Pakistan Embassy by 19 runs and Shikhar Insurance by 16 runs. In their first match, Standard Chartered restricted Bottlers Nepal to 25-6 and reached 27-0 in eight balls. Avinash Chhetri remained unbeaten on 11 and Shekhar Karki and Subash Sharma took two wickets for Standard Chartered.

In the next match, Standard Chartered scored 63-2 and restricted Pakistan Embassy for 44-2. Avinash Chhetri scored 30 for the winners. Bikram scored 18 for Pakistan Embassy.

Against Shikhar Insurance, Standard Chartred accumulated 69-3 and restricted the opponents

for 53-1. Manoj Basnet scored 14-ball 23 and Avinash Chhetri made 7-ball 14. For Shikhar Insurance, Sushil Tandukar and Ajay Dhungel scored 18 and 17 runs.

Kanitpur Group won two matches in Group C, while Avenues TV and United Finance won one match each in Group D.

Kantipur Group defeated Siddhartha Bank by 11 runs and outplayed Nabil Bank by three wickets. In another match Kantipur scored 72-2 and restricted Siddhartha Bank for 61-5. In their next match, Kantipur restricted Nabil bank to 63-1 and reached 66-3 in 4.4 overs.

In Group D matches, Avenues TV defeated Kumari Bank by six wickets and United Finance defeated Kumari Bank by 30 runs.
