KATHMANDU, MAY 03

Today's encounter between the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has been postponed as the latter's players tested COVID-19 positive.

Leg spinner Varun Chakravarthy and pacer Sandeep Warrier of the KKR camp were diagnosed with the infection, following which the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was compelled to postpone the match which was to be held at the newly built Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

As India battles with the second wave of the pandemic, the recent developments could mean further re-jigging of the schedule as KKR were set to play Delhi Capitals (DC) on May 8, which is highly unlikely.

New date of the match up is yet to be announced.

It has been learnt that the KKR have been subjected to all precautionary and testing measures to detect any further cases of infection.
