Rawat-Magar pair through to final

Pairs of Ira Rawat and Shree Ram Magar as well as Mahika Rana and Pranav Khanal advanced to the mixed doubles final of the sixth Citizens Bank Open Tennis Tournament here today.
Rawat and Magar defeated the duo of Chhewang Lama and Ganga Sharma 6-1, 6-2, while pair of Rana and Khanal saw off Abhilasha Bista and Anil Shahi 6-1, 3-6, 10-2.
In women's singles, Ira Rawat defeated Anne Mathema 7-5, 6-4 and advanced to the semi-finals. The match was postponed on Monday due to bad light at a time when Rawat was leading 7-5, 2-4. Rawat will face Abhilasha Bista in the semi-final match, while Prerana Koirala will play against Ganga Sharma.
In men's doubles section, pair of Jitendra Pariyar and Santosh Khatri outplayed duo of Ishwor GC and Deep Rana 6-1, 6-0, while the duo of Niresh Shrestha and Anil Kuinkel outplayed Kul Bahadur Rai and Prakash Chand 6-2, 6-7 (10-4).
Likewise the pair of Pranjal Kayastha and Nabin Magar saw off the duo of Shyam GC and Anjan Thing 6-3, 6-4 and Anil Shahi and Pradeep Khadka defeated the pair of Shyam Sundar GC and Ram Roka 6-2, 6-2 to make it last four.
In above-55 veteran singles, Karma Tashi Lama, Bishnu Prasad Gaire, Dhruba Gurung and Kamal Thapa advanced to semi-finals.
In above-35 veteran singles, Kamal Bhandari, Raju Shrestha, Mahesh Shrestha and Rohit Sunuwar made it to semi-finals.
In above-45 veteran singles, Binod Gurung, Kamal Thapa, Krishna Raj Ghale, Raju Rai, Uttam Kumar Sherpa, Bikash Gurung, Manoj Shah and Binod Gurung advanced to quarter-finals.
