Kathmandu, November 24

Jonty-XI defeated Paras-XI by one wicket in a charity match here at the TU Stadium today.

Batting first, Paras-XI, captained by national team skipper Paras Khadka, posted 209-7 in their allotted 20 overs before Jonty-XI — led by former South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes — completed the target in the last over for the loss of nine wickets.

National team cricketers Binod Bhandari, Arif Sheikh, Asif Sheikh, Lalit Singh Bhandari and Kamal Singh Airee were included in the team Paras-XI along with comedian Sandeep Chhetri.

Likewise, Anil Kumar Sah and Subash Khakurel were joined by actor Sunil Thapa and coaches Dipendra Chaudhary and Manzoor Alam Khan in Jonty-XI.

The event was organised by Nepal Cricket School and Sports-Ed to raise funds for the Kaski district chapter of Autism Care Nepal Society to mark the World Autism Day.

Rhodes is here for the last two weeks to conduct training — Rhodes Rise of the Cricketing High Performance Camp — for aspiring cricketers and youth members of the national team.
