Judokas win silver

KATHMANDU: Manoj Bhatta and Aditya Sherpa won silver medals in the fourth National Blind and Deaf Judo Championship held from February 18-22 at the KD Singh Babu Stadium in Lucknow. Bhatta finished second in 73kg weight category after he lost to Monu from Haryana, while Sherpa lost to Kuldeep of UP in 60kg section final. Earlier, Bhatta defeated T Shiva of Telangana, whereas Sherpa beat Gautam Kumar of Delhi and SK Mohammad of Telangana to advance to the finals. A total of 300 players from Nepal and 17 states of India took part in the tournament organised by UP Blind and Para Judo Association in memory of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, former President of India.
