KATHMANDU: Nischal Khadka and Prasna Dhakal were named the best players of the first Junior Karate Championship organised by the Champion Martial Arts Academy here on Saturday.
Likewise, Ichangu Dojo, hosts Champion Martial Arts Academy and Manakamana Dojo claimed the top three positions respectively in team championship.
More than 300 players from 13 teams took part in the one-day event which was supported by the 11th South Asian Games gold medal winning karateka Sunil Lama, who is also the director of the Champion Martial Arts Academy. Nepal Karate Federation President Yuvaraj Lama and Nepal Shito-Ryu Karate Association President Dawa Gurung among others handed over the prizes to the winners.
Meanwhile, the organisers felicitated senior sports journalist Ajay Phuyal during the closing ceremony.
