KATHMANDU: Kalaiya Cricket Club (KCC) is organising the second edition of the KCC Reunion Cricket Fair from Friday.
A total of three teams will take pat in the three-day tournament. The top two teams after the round-robin league will contest in the final, said Binod Das, the national team and the Kalaiya Cricket Club skipper.
Mukesh Upadhyay will lead the KCC Chargers, while Tasariddhin Mansur is the captain of the KCC Challengers and Binay Shrestha the skipper of the KCC Dare Devils for the tournament.
“The club is organising the tournament to attract the interest of people towards the club. We could not hold the night matches as we had planned this year, but we will definitely do that from next year,” said Das.
The KCC have a proud
history of producing Nepali cricket stars like Binod
Das, Sanjam Regmi, Bikash Dali, Dipesh Shrestha and Kanishka Chaugain. Like Binod, Pawan has also captained the national side, while Kanishka — who is currently in the United States — led the Nepali Under-19 team to the plate championship victory at the ICC U-19 World Cup in 2006.
