Kalimati, Bishal Bazar win
KATHMANDU: Kalimati defeated Kathmandu Kings XI by 43 runs and Bishal Bazar beat City Centre Challengers by two wickets in the second day matches at the first Inter-Marwari Twenty20 Cricket Tournament here today.
At LAB School, Kalimati were bowled out for 118 runs in 20 overs after electing to bat, while Kathmandu Kings XI were bundled out for 75 runs in 16.2 overs. Umesh Kocher top scored for Kalimati with 37 off 60 balls including a four and a six. Ramesh Sharma, Sushil Upadhyaya, Dharmendra Jatt and Manoj Sharma took one wicket each for Kathmandu Kings.
In reply, Amit Sancheti (17) and Sandeep Kocher (10) were the only batsmen to score in double figures for Kathmandu Kings. Nem Chand and man of the match Umesh Kocher took four wickets each for Kalimati.
At Modern Indian School, City Centre scored 135-8 in 20 overs after they were invited to take the first strike. In reply, Bishal Bazar overcame the target losing eight wickets in 19.2 overs. For City Centre Bikash Agrawal scored 39 off 32 balls hitting three fours and two sixes, while Surendra Kedia struck three boundaries in his 32-ball 24. Vishal Agrawal scored 19-ball 21 including four fours.
Sunil Gaggar, Navin Jain and Yash Somani took two wickets each for Bishal Bazar. Gaggar returned to knock off an unbeaten 31 off just 15 balls including five sixes that also earned him the man of the match award. Sandeep Bhatera and Gaurav Pathak scored 20 runs each, while Navin Jain contributed 16. Sandeep Gadia took 3-28 and Bimal Singhania claimed 2-12 for City Centre.
