KATHMANDU: Nepal Kyokushin Karate-Do Association is organising the 14th Men’s Weight Category and 13th Women’s National Full Contact Karate Championships at the National Sports Council covered hall on April 8-9. The men’s tournament features three weight categories — 50kg, 60kg and above-60kg, while the women’s section will have open competition and kata. Around 90 players, 60 in men and 30 in women’s sections, are expected to take part in the championship, informed the organizers at a press meet on Friday. Top three karatekas in all weight categories will receive Rs 10,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 2,500 respectively and the best players will get Rs 1,000 each, while the kata winners will earn Rs 5,000, Rs 2,500 and Rs 1,000.
