Pavitra Kumar Karki won the title of the fourth edition of Surya Nepal Gokarna Monthly Medal here at the Gokarna Golf Club today.
Played under stroke play full handicap format, the 16-handicap amateur golfer Karki carded seven-under 65 to finish first. Lalit Thapa came second with the score of five-under 67, while Bijay Bahadur Shrestha was third at four-under 68.
Vijay Shrestha Einhaus won the gross category trophy with the score of two-under 70. A total of 44 golfers took part in the tournament sponsored by Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd. Gokarna Golf Club Captain Joseph Nathan handed over the prizes to the winners of the event.
After the fourth edition, Ranadeep Thapa is at the top of the nett section table with 115 points, while Pavitra Kumar Karki, Karna Thapa, Babu Sherpa and Purna Bahadur Rai are tied for second at 100 points.
Robin Rana is sixth with 75 points, whereas Purna Man Shakya is seventh with 65.
Dhundul Namgyal, Lalit Thapa and Tendi Sherpa are tied for eighth with 60 points.
In gross section, Vijay Shrestha Einhaus moved to the top with 200 points, while Sadbhav Acharya slipped to second with 160 points. Surendra Phuyal and Robin Rana are joint third with 100 points each, while Wangchen Dhondup is fifth with 95 points. After 10 monthly medal rounds, top 40 golfers in nett section and top 20 players in gross category will make it to the Club Championships finals.
