Kathmandu Bodybuilding and Fitness Association is set to organise the second Kathmandu Men’s Bodybuilding, second Women’s Fitness and first Mr Kathmandu Junior Championship on September 8-9.
A total of 100 bodybuilders, including 12 women, from Kathmandu are expected to take part in the event, informed KBBFA President Suresh Subedi at a press meet today. The men’s event features six weight categories — 55kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, 75kg and above-75kg. The pre-judging round will be held on the first day and top five bodybuilders from all weight categories will make it to the finals slated for September 9.
The winners of all the six weight categories will then fight for the overall championship, Mr Kathmandu. The overall champion will get Rs 100,000. Similarly, top three contestants in all weight categories will get Rs 10,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 3,000 respectively.
Likewise, women’s event features open event, while junior bodybuilders will compete in U-21 age group.
Top five contestants each from women and junior categories will also be selected for the finals from the pre-judging round. The top three bodybuilders in women and junior categories will take home Rs 20,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively.
