KCTC beat Pentagon; Pulchowk edge TU

Kathmandu Cricket Training Centre defeated Pentagon College by 18 runs in the Pran Litchi Drinks first National Inter-club Youth Cricket Tournament here at the Tribhuvan University Stadium on Wednesday.
Batting first, KCTC scored 157-7 in 20 overs before restricting Pentagon for 139-6.
Aadil Khan top scored for KCTC with 26-ball 39 that included four boundaries and two sixes, while Jitendra Thakuri scored 33 off 26 balls. Manish Sahani scored a quick fire 25 off 18 balls hitting five fours, while Sumit Maharjan scored 20.
Navin Kumar Yadav and Abinash Adhikari took two wickets each for Pentagon.
In reply, Somesh Yadav scored 26 off 36 balls hitting two fours, while Dhiraj Adhikari and Abinash Adhikari contributed 24 each for Pentagon.
Dhiraj hit two fours and a six in his 17-ball knock, while Abinash’s 15-ball innings included four boundaries. Robin Chhetri was the pick of the KCTC bowlers with the figures of 3-26, while Shyam Tripathi claimed two wickets.
In another match, Pulchowk Engineering College beat TU by seven runs. Batting first, Pulchowk were bowled out for 139, while TU managed 132-6.
Sumant Shah top scored for Pulchowk with 36 off 33 balls that included four fours and a six, while Gaurav Khadka struck five fours and two sixes in his fiery 13-ball 33. Kamal Pun remained unbeaten on 24 off 31 balls.
For TU, Krishna Gajurel and Abhises Thapa took three wickets each, while Raunak Dhungana claimed two.
In reply, TU fell seven runs short of the target despite Anup Shrestha’s 24-ball 38 that included three fours and six.
Opener Santosh Kumar Shah struck four boundaries in his 30 off 27 balls, while Prasoon Thapa (18 not out) and Abhisek Basnet (10) were the other batsmen to contribute in double figures for TU.
Santosh Bhattarai took 2-16 for Pulchowk, while Sumant Shah claimed one as three TU batsmen were run out.
