PARIS: Australian Open champion Angelique Kerber has dropped a place to world No 3 in the latest WTA rankings released on Monday after her semi-final exit in Charleston.

The German retired with an injury when trailing 6-1, 3-0 to Sloane Stephens on Saturday.

Polish Agnieszka Radwanska reclaimed second spot, while American Serena Williams held a massive lead at the top of the rankings.
