Kotut, Kuma win

PARIS: Kenyan Cyprien Kotut won the Paris half-marathon on Sunday while Dibabe Kuma of Ethiopia triumphed in the women’s race. Kotut, 23, finished in 1 hour, 1 minute and  4 second to beat compatriot Amos Kipruto by seven seconds into second with Ethiopia’s Azmerew Mengistu third at 13sec. The winner said it was good training ahead of next month’s Paris marathon. Kotut finished second last year in the Milan marathon. Kuma came home in 1hr, 9min and 19sec to beat Kenya’s Pioline Wanjiku by 31sec with European marathon champion Christelle Daunay of France third at 47sec.
