All-rounder Kushal Malla's quick-fire 34 runs, coupled with his three-wicket haul, propelled Nepal to a comprehensive 71-run victory and series win over Ireland 'A' on Tuesday.

Winning the toss, Nepal chose to bat first and posted a challenging total of 198 for seven in their allotted 20 overs at TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur this afternoon.

Middle-order batsman Gulshan Jha top-scored with 46 runs off 32 balls, including four sixes and a boundary, while skipper Rohit Paudel and Kushal Bhurtel contributed 33 and 25 runs, respectively.

Kushal Malla played a whirlwind innings, smashing 34 runs off just 13 balls, featuring four maximums and a boundary, before getting out in the cow corner.

Irish bowler Matthew Foster claimed three Nepali wickets, while Ben While picked up a couple of wickets.

Chasing the mammoth total, Ireland were bowled out for 127 runs in 19 overs, conceding a comprehensive victory of 71 runs to the Himalayan nation.

Kushal Malla and Sompal Kami shared six wickets between them to script the comprehensive victory. Visiting batsman Stephen Doheny top-scored for Ireland with 26 runs, while Morgan Topping contributed 21 runs.

Malla stood out as the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3-0-15-3. Fast bowler Karan KC, Bibek Yadav, and Kushal Bhurtel chipped in with a wicket each.

Later, Malla was adjudged man-of-the-match for his performance with both bat and ball. With this victory, Nepal has clinched series 2-0.

Earlier, Nepal had defeated the visiting Irish team by six wickets.
