Maharjan, Bhudha Magar enter final

Tribhuvan Army Club’s Lalita Maharjan and Nepal APF Club Nangja Budha Magar advanced to the women’s 48kg final of the 27th Men’s and eighth Women’s Open Boxing Tournament under the NSC Championship here today.

In the semi-final matches, Maharjan beat Nepal Police Club’s Diwana Shrestha, while Budha Magar saw off Sharmila Lama of Bhaktapur.

In the 51kg event, TAC’s Gita Kumar Thapa Magar was declared the winner after her sister Bimala Thapa Magar, who represented Dang, quit the game, while APF’s Mala Rai beat Naxal’s Roshani Rai to advance to the final.

Similarly, TAC’s Bimala Shrestha thrashed APF’s Maya Chaudhary and Nita Gosai of Bhaktapur beat Sanju Maya Thing of Makwanpur to enter the final of 54kg event, while APF’s Sanju Lama defeated TAC’s Chandra Kala Thapa and Naxal’s Kusum Tamang beat Kusum Thapa Magar of Kaski to make it to the 57kg final.

APF’s Sangita Sunar and Mandira Putuwar of Kathmandu entered the 60kg event final, while TAC’s Punam Raut and APF’s Binita Thapa Magar book their spots in the 64kg final.

Likewise, APF’s Manita Rai and NPC’s Anuradha Lama entered the 69kg final, while APF’s Saraswoti Rana and TAC’s Sabina Shrestha made it to the 75kg section.

In the men’s category, Sulav Raj Tuladhar of Sunsari, and TAC’s Tej Bahadur Deuba entered the 49kg event final, while TAC’s Prem Chaudhary and APF’s Bikram Pariyar advanced to the 52kg final. APF’s Puran Rai and Bimal Rokka booked their places in the 56kg final.

Similarly, Prakash Limbu of Jhapa and TAC’s Ek Bahadur Ghale sailed into the final of 60kg, while TAC’s Deepak Shrestha and NPC’s Bhupen Thapa Magar secured their places in the 64kg final.

TAC’s Bishnu Ghale and APF’s Bikash Lama entered the 69kg final. Similarly, Manohar Basnet of Jhapa and Saujan Thapa of Tikapur advanced to the 81kg final.
