Lamichhane wins KIA Open

Kathmandu, November 25:

Indra Lamichhane won the third KIA Open Golf Tournament organised by Continental Trading Enterprises Pvt Ltd here at the Le Meridien Gokarna Forest Golf Resort and Spa today.

Played at stableford 3/4 handicap format, Lamichhane won the trophy on count back after he was tied at 38 points with runner-up YD Kwon and second runner-up Rupak Acharya.

Tashi Ghale had a round of one-under including five birdies and won the best gross and most birdies awards. Lobsang Tashi won the the KIA Customer section title with 37 points, also on count back from Laxmi Man Maharjan.

Eu Hazur Thapa clinched the ladies section trophy with 25 points, ahead of Puspa Rai, who earned 22 points. DC Khanna was the winner in the super senior category and Lt Gen KNS Thapa came first in senior section. Juthitham was the best golfer among the foreign participants.

Lobsang Tashi was the golfer closest to the pin at Hole No 10 — one of the two holes in which KIA Rio car was kept for the Hole-in-one feat, while Srijay Acharya won the longest drive award and SK Singh was declared the most stylish golfer. President of Continental Trading Enterprises Suhrid Ghimire, MD Rabindra Man Shrestha, Pavitra Shrestha, Korean Ambassador Nam Sang Jung and Kim Sun Hee gave away prizes to the winners.
