Limbu wins Dashain Cup

Kathmandu, October 13:

Maj Man Bahadur Limbu won the Ruslan Vodka Dashain Cup Golf Tournament here at the Royal Nepal Golf Club today.

Played under stableford 3/4 handicap format, Limbu won the title on count back after tying at 39 with Hari Bahadur Rai. Both Limbu and Rai had played their rounds on Friday along with 34 golfers including four ladies. Another 44 golfers played today, but failed to better Limbu.

Ruslan Vodka organised the event to mark its 35 years of excellence. Limbu got the Kathmandu-Bangkok round tickets for two and Rai received Kathmandu-Pokhara tickets.

Dorji Tamang Sherpa, who earned 32 points, won the best gross award, while Maj Nima W Lama was the winner in the senior section on count back after he was tied with Bejoy Moktan at 31 points.

Shastika Shrestha won the ladies title with 32 points and Sabitri Rai was runner-up with 27 points.

Dr Narajan Sharma claimed the guest member section award. Rabindra Man Shrestha was the winner in the 35 Years Excellence section. Neeraj SJB Rana won the longest drive award and Shrihar SBJ Rana was the golfer closest to the pin. Bijay Moktan was the winner in the closest to the Ruslan Vodka competition while Maj Santosh Kumar Rai got the best sportsmanship award.
