Liverpool beaten again; Milan, Real triumph

Liverpool extended its winless streak in this season’s Champions League, losing at Besiktas 2-1 on Wednesday and hurting its chances of advancing.
Defending champion AC Milan had a comfortable 4-1 win over Shakhtar Donetsk, with Alberto Gilardino and Clarence Seedorf scoring two goals each. Cristiano Lucarelli pulled one back for Shakhtar. Milan has six points, leading Shakhtar on goal difference. Benfica and Celtic have three points each.
Robinho scored twice in Real Madrid’s 4-2 win over Olympiakos, and Rosenborg upset Valencia 2-0. Also, it was: Chelsea 2, Schalke 0; Werder Bremen 2, Lazio 1; Benfica 1, Celtic 0; and Marseille 1, Porto 1.
Besiktas took the lead on a Liverpool defensive error. Jamie Carragher blocked an attempt from Bobo, and the ball went to Serdar Ozkan, whose shot went in off the leg of Liverpool defender Sami Hyypia in the 13th minute for an own-goal. The Turkish team doubled their lead in the 81st through Bobo’s goal. Gerrard got one back for the visitors in the 85th.
Marseille leads the Group A with seven points, followed by Porto with five, Besiktas with three and Liverpool with one.
Lucho Gonzalez converted a late penalty to earn Porto a draw after goalkeeper Steve Mandanda fouled Lisandro Lopez inside the area. Mamadou Niang put Marseille ahead in the 69th, deflecting in a cross from Djibril Cisse.
Real Madrid striker Raul Gonzalez scored in the second minute but Olympiakos levelled in the seventh through Luciano Galletti. Olympiakos took the lead when Julio Cesar volleyed a free kick from Predrag Djordjevic in the 47th. Madrid levelled with a header in the 68th before Robinho put Madrid ahead in the 83rd and Javier Balboa sealed Madrid’s win in injury time.
Real Madrid lead Group C with seven points, with Olympiakos with four.
Werder Bremen beat Lazio 2-1. Bremen got the opening goal from Boubacar Sanogo in the 28th and Hugo Almeida made it 2-0 in the 54th minute. Christian Manfredini scored for Lazio in the 82nd minute.
Didier Drogba scored one goal and set up another for Chelsea. Florent Malouda scored in the fourth minute before Drogba made it 2-0 in the 47th. Chelsea lead Group B with seven points. Rosenborg have four and Valencia and Schalke three points each.
Rosenborg beat Valencia 2-0 in the other Group B game. Yssouf Kone scored in the 53rd minute before Vidar Riseth added the second in the 61st.
