Shridiwa lift title
KATHMANDU: Shridiwa won the third straight title of the Unique Inter-school Junior Boys’ Basketball Tournament beating Unique School 45-35. Krishna netted 22 points for the winners. Jongbu Sherpa of Unique was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament. — HNS

KATHMANDU: Nawang Chhimi netted 20 as Daffodil beat New Summit 44-28 to enter the final of the second New Millennium Inter-school Basketball Tournament. — HNS

KATHMANDU: Budhanilkantha of Central Region won the first Inter-school National Handball Tournament beating Jyoti School of Eastern Region 10-9 despite trailing 2-5 in the first half. — HNS
Upasana claims gold
KATHMANDU: Upasana Basnet won the long jump gold at the Valleywide Inter-school Athletics Championship. Ganga Sagar Desar won the boys’ section gold. Other winners included Sanjaya Gubaju (boys’ 100m), Indira Kumal (girls’ 100m), Prabin Desar (boys’ 400m), Manita Poudel (girls’ 400m), Anju Musyakho (girls’ 1,500m), Deepak Desar (boys’ 3,000m), Chitra Paija (boys’ shotput) and Sadhana Samba (girls’ shotput). — HNS
NSJF beat CG
KATHMANDU: Nepal Sports Journalists Forum (NSJF) defeated Chaudhary Group (CG) by seven wickets in a friendly cricket match. CG scored 134/9 in 25 overs, while NSJF chased the target losing three wickets in 22.1 overs. Devendra Subedi of NSJF scored 57, while Ujjwal Acharya made 34. Ritesh Rijal took 3-28 for NSJF. — HNS

KATHMANDU: Prime College beat Campion 51-18 at the Prime Cup U-19 National Basketball Tournament. In other boys’ section match, NCCS beat Kamana 28-17. In girls’ section, Prime beat NCCS 32-6 and White House thrashed KIST 35-2. — HNS
