C’ Div selection football

KATHMANDU: Naya Nagar Yuva Club and Chandeswori Yuva Club advanced to the Group C semi-finals at the ‘C’ Division Selection Football Tournament on Thursday. Naya Nagar edged out All Star Club 1-0 on a goal from William Sherchan while Hariram Shrestha, Pukar Bikram Shah, Bijay Bikram Shah, Nilesh Giri and Raju Maharjan scored a goal each as Chandeswori thrashed Bhotebahal Club 5-0. Likewise, Kamal Pokhari Sports Club hammered Sarokar Youth Club 8-2 and Kalika Mahabir overpowered Siddhipur Yuva Club 5-1 in other matches. — HNS

Corporate bowling

KATHMANDU: Applaud Event and Promotion (AEP) is organising the Corporate Bowling Tournament at the Bowling Boulevard on July 28. Top two teams from each of the two groups will enter the final round of the 10-team event. Each team requires to field a lady bowler in the three-member team, said the organisers. — HNS

Volleyball tournament

POKHARA: Chhorepatan School, Tops School, Pun Club and Gyan Baba School entered the women’s section second round at the Volleyball Festival, which has been organised by Barahi Club of Pokhara. Ex-Bagar, Shangri-La Village and APF’s Kalika Battalion and Muktinath Battalion made it to the second round in men’s section. In all, 36 teams — including 12 in women, 16 in men and eight veterans sections — are taking part in the event. — HNS
