APF running trophy volleyball
KATHMANDU: The Central Sports Committee of the Armed Police Force (APF) is organising the first APF Running Trophy Volleyball Tournament here from June 8-13. In all seven internal teams will take part in the tournament, the organisers said at a press meet here on Tuesday. The top two winners will receive Rs 25,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively. — HNS
JSKA International Karate
KATHMANDU: Nepal Shotokan Karate Association (JSKA) is organising the first JSKA Open International Karate Championship here from September 4-8. Around 500 karatekas from 20 nations are expected to take part in the tournament, said JSKA in a release. A total of 260 karates from Nepal will compete in the championship, the release added. — HNS
Caspion in quarter-finals
LALITPUR: Norup Gurung struck double hat-trick and Bishal Sharma added another as Jagat Mandir Higher Secondary School crushed Sahayogi Higher Secondary School 7-2 to enter the quarter-finals of the Akhil Cup Valleywide Inter-college Football on Tuesday. Also advancing to the quarter-finals were Caspion Higher Secondary School, who beat RIBS 3-2 in tiebreaker after a 1-1 deadlock. — HNS

KATHMANDU: Sean and Cristian netted 14 points each as hosts Godavari Alumni Association defeated Nepal Basketball Academy 60-48 in the fourth Fr Watrin Basketball Championhip. In other matches, Bishalnagar Youth Club registered a 92-36 win over Wilson Club riding on 23 points from Rupak Gurung while Lincoln beat Bishal Milan Kendra 66-40 and Kathmandudes defeated Yarlung Club 59-24. — HNS
