APF, NRT advance
LALITPUR: Armed Police Force (APF) Team and New Road Team (NRT) qualified for the semi-finals of the third Nepal Bank ‘A’ Division Junior (U-14) League Football as winners and runners up respectively from Group ‘B’. Samsung Jawalakhel Youth Club (JYC) and Nabil Three Star Club have already made it to the last four from Group ‘A’. On Sunday, Sankata Kathmandu Mall Club beat Mahendra Police Club 2-1, APF and Boys Union Club played a 2-2 draw, while NRT and NIB Friends Club drew 1-1. JYC will take on NRT and APF will face Three Star in semi-finals on Tuesday. — HNS
U-19 team selected
KATHMANDU: The Region No 3 (Kathmandu) on Sunday selected a 14-member team for the upcoming U-19 National Cricket Tournament. The selected players are Paras Khadka (captain), Gyanendra Malla (vice-captain), Dipen Shrestha (wicket-keeper), Subhash Khakurel, Sarad Vesawkar, Sunam Gautam, Udayan Shakya, Rom Shrestha, Ritesh Singh, Avay Rana, Raman Shrestha, Suraj Shakya, Raj Shrestha, and Ujjwol Shrestha. Four others — Rajesh Shrestha, Sujin Adhikari, Prabin Joshi and Birat Man Singh Dangol — were named as reserved players. — HNS
