Pokhara claim title
POKHARA: Pokhara claimed the National Blind Cricket Tournament with 28-run win over United Women Team here on Sunday. Pokhara defeated the United Women Team by 28 runs to win the three-match series 3-0. Batting first, Pokhara scored 89-5 in 12 overs with Lalu Maya Bhujel contributing 16 and Hitat Gurung making 15. In reply, United Women could only muster 61-9. Asha Regmi and Rupa Balal scored 10 runs each for the United Women. Player of the match, Bhagwati Bhattarai claimed six wickets and Saraswoti Bhatta took three for the winning team. Winners and runners-up received Rs 6,000 and Rs 4,000 respectively.
Committee formed
KATHMANDU: Nepal Darts Association (NDA) on Sunday formed a six-member Technical and Discipline Committee. NDA secretary general Dinesh Thapa is the coordinator while national referees Ramesh Adhikari, Iswor Bahadur Gurung, Raj Kumar Pandey, Sunil Shrestha and Sudarshan Jamakattel are the members of the newly formed committee. The committee will oversee the technical and discipline related issues of darts and also focus on the promotion and introduction of the sport in the school level, said the NDA in a statement here on Sunday.
KC passes away
KATHMANDU: Former president of Bansbari Football Club Bhai Krishna KC passd away on Saturday morning at the age of 57. KC was suffering from intestine complications and was undergoing regular treatment at the Nepal Medical College for the last one year. He is survived by his and two sons. KC was well known for his initiative towards women football. Bansbari Club was promoted to ‘A’ Division this year.
