RCT beat BBC

Kathmandu: Ranipokhari Corner Team (RCT) beat Brigade Boys’ Club (BBC) 1-0 while New Road Team (NRT) and Boys’ Union Club (BUC) played a 1-1 draw in the Martyrs’ Memorial San Miguel ‘A’ Division League on Monday. Naresh Khatri scored from 25 yards to hand RCT the three clear points. In the second match, Laxman Ruchal put NRT ahead in the 43rd minute and Raju Rai equalised on a spot kick after Sachin Dhimal handled the ball inside the box in the 74th minute. — HNS

Junior is back

KATHMANDU: Nabil Three Star Club signed the Nigerian-based Elijah Oriade Junior Obagbemiro and Chidiabi Chyna Akpulonu for the Martyrs’ Memorial League. ANFA registered the players after the club produced International Transfer Certificate and work permit sanctioned by National Sports Council and the Education and Sports ministry. — HNS

KATHMANDU: RIBS outplayed New Summit 81-31 in the Inter-Higher Secondary School Basketball Tournament under Gyan Carnival. Prime defeated United Academy 51-24 and White House overcame Don Bosco 53-26. — HNS

KATHMANDU: New Summit defeated hosts TIA 21-14 while Greenland beat Mahendra Bhawan 26-6 in girls’ section at the fourth TIA Inter-school Basketball Tournament. HIMS, Greenland and Universal Academy won their matches in the boys’ section. — HNS

Maskey named

KATHMANDU: Assistant cheif coach at the National Sports Council Om Kumar Maskey has been nominated as the FAB (Federation of Amateur Boxing) Referee/Judge for the 15 Asian Games slated for December 1-15 in Doha. Maskey is one of the 44 RJs selected for the event by the Asian Boxing Federation. — HNS
