Thapa off to Malaysia

KATHMANDU: All Nepal Football Association president and member of Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Ganesh Thapa left for Malaysia on Sunday to attend the regular AFC executive committee meeting slated for November 23. Before the AFC meeting, Thapa will also participate in the meetings of Vision Asia and AFC Development Committee, and Oragnising Committee meetings of the AFC President’s Cup and Challenge Cup. Thapa is the vice-president of AFC Development Committee, and president of AFC President’s Cup and Challenge Cup organising committees. — HNS

TIA basketball

KATHMANDU: Trungram International Academy (TIA) is organising the fourth TIA Cup Inter-school Basketball Tournament from November 23 to December 2. In all, 50 schools of Kathmandu Valley will vie for the championship in boys’ and girls’ categories. The tournament will be played on a league-cum-knockout format at the premises of the organising school in Hattigauda. — HNS

Karate championship

KATHMANDU: A six-member team of Nepal Kwanmukan Karate-do Association (NKKA) left for Hyderabad to participate in the first Asia Wuku Continental Open Karate Championship scheduled for November 23-26, the association said in a release on Sunday. NKKA president Janak Subedi bade farewell to the team. — HNS
