CAN selects squad
KATHMANDU: Cricket Association of Nepal on Wednesday named a 14-member squad for the ACC Premier League match against Malaysia slated for November 24 . Binod Das is the captain while the other members include Shakti Gauchan, Paresh Lohani, Paras Khadka, Raj Kumar Pradhan, Mehaboob Alam, Sarad Vesawkar, Basanta Regmi, Mahesh Chhetri, Sanjam Regmi, Gyanendra Malla, Manoj Katuwal, Amrit Bhattarai and Bijay Thapa. Akash Gupta, Prem Chaudhary and Antim Thapa was named as reserved players. — HNS
Memo handed over
KATHMANDU: The ten associations handed over a memorandum to the National Sports Council on Wednesday seeking to revoke the latter’s decision to dissolve their elected executive committee. The NSC had recently dissolved elected committees of the 15 associations stating that the election was held under the February 1 Royal takeover. Among the association that demanded the review of the NSC decision are Nepal Athletics, Badminton, Judo, Basketball, Shooting, Archery, Boxing, Soft Tennis, Chess and Table Tennis. — HNS
Wilson, Malpi in semis
KATHMANDU: Wilson, Malpi and KISC advanced to the semi-finals in the senior boys’ section of the sixth Wilson Inter-school Basketball Tournament today. Wilson beat Sambotta 56-32, Malpi edged past Unique 67-51 and KIS defeated Nirmal School 59-38. — HNS
