KATHMANDU: Mahottary Cricket Club (MCC) beat Kantipur City College (KCC) by 33 runs and Vijay Smarak defeated Everest Casino by seven wickets in the Twenty20 Open Knockout Cricket Tournament on Saturday.MCC scored 86 in 13.3 overs and restricted NCC to 53 runs in 12.2 overs. In another match, Everest Casino were all out for 78 in 12.4 overs and Vijay Smarak chased the total losing three wickets in 12.4 overs. — HNS

Basnet, Sintakala win

KATHMANDU: Tribhuvan Army Club athletes clean swept the Men’s Open Half Marathon, organised by Rastriya Banijya Bank on its 43rd anniversary, on Saturday. Arjun Basnet won the half marathon in one hour, 11 minutes and 07 seconds ahead of Uttam Khatri(1:11:37). Their teammate Ananda Shrestha came third with the timing of 1:15:00. Likewise, Krishneswori Sintakala of Nepal Armed Police Force (APF) Club claimed the Women’s 10-km race in 41.12.04. Surya Maya Rai was next with 42.02.53 followed by Hari Devi Raj Lawat (44.04.57). — HNS

Rana lifts trophy

KATHMANDU: Neeraj SJB Rana emerged as the overall winner of the RNGC Anniversary Golf Tournament here at the Royal Nepal Golf Club (RNGC) today. Rana scored 68 net points to win the championship. Siddheswar Kumar Singh was the men’s champion and Maj Bijoy Moktan the runner up. Shastika Shrestha won the ladies championship ahead of Sumitra Dayananda. Maj Man Bahadur Limbu was the senior section winner. Likewise, Saharsha Singh and Prince Thapa were the winner and runner up respectively in the junior section. — HNS

LALITPUR: Nakhipot Badminton Circle is organising the fifth Ramailo Badminton Tournament from Monday. In all, 15 clubs from Lalitpur will vie for the championship in four categories — Men, Ladies, Mixed and Veteran’s doubles. — HNS

KATHMANDU: Nepal Armed Police Force (APF) awarded the 21-member football team for their recent success at the Sixth Aaha Gold Cup Football Tournament in Pokhara. APF lost to Nepal Police Club in final. APF IG Basu Dev Oli handed over cash prizes to football squad. — HNS
