Golden Gate win
KATHMANDU: Himalayan White House International College and Golden Gate College entered the final of the Everest Cup Men’s Open Basketball Tournament, which has been organised by Everest Basketball Academy, here in Kirtipur on Thursday. In the day’s first semi-final, White House beat Prime Sports Club 45-37. Binod Maharjan of White House netted 12 points and Sanjay Prajapati scored 11 points for Prime. In the second semi-final, Golden Gate defeated Kathmandudes 54-43. Bipendra Maharjan and Rabindra Maharjan scored 13 points each for Golden Gate, while Sam David netted 14 points for Kathmandudes. The final is slated for Saturday. — HNS
RBB Race on Jan 19
KATHMANDU: The Sports Committee of Rastriya Banijya Bank (RBB) central office is organising the RBB Open Men’s Half Marathon and Women’s Open 10km Race on January 19. A total of 250 runners — 200 in men’s section and 50 in women’s section — are expected to take part in the race being organised to mark the 43rd anniversary of Rastriya Banijya Bank, said the organisers in a press meet on Thursday. The top three winners in men’s half marathon will receive Rs 40,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000. The women’s 10km winners will get Rs 25,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000. Apart from that, the runners finishing from fourth to 10th will be awarded with Rs 2,000 each. — HNS
