Magar wins Open Snooker title
KATHMANDU: Deepak Magar won the title of the All Nepal Open Snooker Championship here on Friday. Magar defeated Bikash Shrestha 6-3 in the best-of-eleven frames final. Magar took the lead with a 94-10 win in the first frame before Shrestha levelled the scores with 68-32 win. The duo shared the next two frames for a 2-2 draw before Magar won fifth and sixth frames 85-35 and 97-70 to make it 4-2. After Shrestha won 84-56 in the seventh frame, Magar took the eighth frame 83-45 and sealed the victory with a 107-25 win in the ninth frame. Magar received Rs 50,000 along with trophy and certificate, while Shrestha earned Rs 25,000. Sarang Rana won the highest breaker’s award and Rs 8,000. National Sports Council Member Secretary Keshab Kumar Bista handed over prizes to the winners of the tournament organised by New Durbar Square Snooker Club.
