Mahabir beat KKM

Kathmandu, May 9:

Mahabir Club earned a chance to make it into the final after defeating Kathmandu Khel Mandal by three wickets in the Yeti Air Cup cricket tournament on Tuesday.

Riding on the 44 runs by Raj Sharma Kathmandu Khel Mandal scored 144 runs before being all out the 38.1 overs. Niraj Basnet added 31 to the total followed by Raj Shrestha (22) and Amit Lohani (10).

Paresh Lohani took three wickets for Mahabir while Kalam Ali and Manish Lohani shared two wickets each.

In reply, Mahabir chased the total in 29.1 overs losing seven wickets. Raj Basnet explosive innings of 86 runs off 70 deliveries help them achieve the target. Basnet’s inning’s included six boundaries and five sixes. Paresh Lohani contributed valuable 35 runs.

Niraj Basnet claimed three wickets while Amit Lohani Suraj Basnet and Bikash Mehata claimed one each.

Baluwatar Cricket Club and Mahabir Club have won two matches each whereas Yangal Cricket Club has won one. With three loses in a row, KKM is out of the competition. Wednesday’s match between Baluwatar and Yangal will decide the two teams to advance for the final. If Baluwatar win, Baluwatar and Mahabir will qualify for the final but if Yangal win, top two teams with better run rates will advance.
