Kathmandu, May 4:

Dipendra Chaudhary scored a brisk 36 runs and took five wickets as Mahavir Club crushed Lainchour Club by 160 runs in the Kathmandu District Selection Tournament today.

Batting first, Mahavir accumulated 215/9 in 40 overs. Opener Paresh Lohani scored 45-ball 26, while Dipendra Chaudhary made 36 off 35 balls hitting seven fours. Raju Basnet scored 35-ball 34 while Yeshwant Subedi made 19. Gyanendra Mall and Yug Basnet contributed 13 runs each.

For Lainchour, Amit Jaiswal took 3-39, while Raju Thapa claimed two wickets. In reply, Lainchour were packed for a paltry 55 runs in 26.1 overs. None of the batsmen reached the double figure mark with Bijay Gautam contributing the highest runs — nine.

Man of the match Dipendra Chaudhary was the chief destroyer, taking 5-16 off eight overs, while Raju Basnet claimed 2-23 off seven overs.
