Manang Marshyandi Club advanced to the semi-finals of the fifth Chief Minister Sudurpashchim Khaptad Gold Cup football tournament here at the Dhangadhi Stadium today.
Manang scored two goals in two minutes and came from a goal down to defeat Delhi Football Club of India 2-1 in the opening match of the tournament.
After a goalless first half, Krishna put the Indian side ahead in the 69th minute.
Manang skipper Anjan Bista levelled the scores in the 78th minute before Bimal Rana netted the winning goal two minutes later. A total of 10 teams are taking part in the event organised by Sudurpashchim-XI Sports Club. The winners and runners-up will receive Rs 2.1 million and one million rupees respectively. On Friday, Bagmati Youth Club will take on A division side New Road Team.
