LALITPUR: Tribhuvan Army Club’s Manita Shrestha Pradhan claimed gold medal in the 15th National Judo Tournament here on Saturday.

Pradhan defeated Purna Rai of Nepal Police Club in the women’s below-57kg weight category final.

TAC’s Sumitra Rai won the women’s below-48 event beating her teammate Sushmita Lawati, while NPC’s Sunita Magar beat TAC’s Ganga Chaudhary to win women’s below-70kg section gold.

Similarly, TAC’s Akriti Joshi bagged the women’s above-78kg event gold medal beating Sunita Bohara of Kanchanpur.

In men’s events, Indra Bahadur Shrestha of PAM won the below-66kg event after seeing off Mahendra Giri of NPC, while Manish Mahato of NPC won the below-81kg gold beating Gaurab Jung Shahi.

TAC’s Surya Man Lama saw off NPC’s Rabin Shrestha to win the below-100kg category event.
