KATHMANDU: Manju Suwal won the gold medal in the 12th Hareram Joshi Memorial Open Table Tennis Tournament here on Sunday.

Suwal of Prabhat School defeated her teammate Anju Suwal 11-7, 6-11, 11-8, 9-11, 11-9 in the U-16 girls’ singles final at the Lainchaur covered hall.

Samyog Kapali of AVM and Rekhan Tamang of Promix made it to the boys’ section final.

Bishal Gole won the U-12 boys’ singles gold beating fellow AVM School player Rubin Maharjan 14-12, 10-12, 11-9, 8-11, 12-10, while Susmita Khadka of Bijeshwori bagged the girls’ section title with a 11-8, 7-11, 11-9, 9-11, 11-5 victory over Trisha Maharjan of Gyan Mandir.
