Alam to play in Singapore

Kathmandu, June 30

Nepal’s allrounder Mehboob Alam is set to feature in the fifth Singapore Cricket Club International Twenty20 to be played in Singapore from August 11-13.

Alam — the Guinness World Record holder for taking 10 wickets in an innings against Mozambique — will play for Singapore Emerging Stars in the tournament.

Alam informed that the amount that he will receive from the club was yet to be decided. “The amount will be decided later on,” said Alam, who will leave for Singapore on August 10 for the event.

A total of eight teams are participating in the tournament being organised by Singapore Cricket Club. Besides the hosts, Madras Cricket Club, Rowlin National Cricket academy of South Africa, Sydney Cricket Ground, Melbourne Cricket Club, Sinhalese Sports Club, Kowloon Cricket Club and Singapore Emerging Stars will take part in the three-day event.
