KATHMANDU: Youth and Sports Ministry appointed Bishnu Prasad Lamshal as the acting Member Secretary of the National Sports Council here today.

Lamshal, who is the Joint-Secretary at the Youth and Sports Ministry, will assume the responsibility until the next appointed is made. The post of Nepal’s sports governing body was vacant since Jeevan Ram Shrestha last week tendered his resignation.

Shrestha was nominated when CPN-UML got the Sports Ministry after the Jana Andolan II. Tarai Madhesh Loktantrik Party bagged the ministry recently forcing Shrestha to step down.
