MMC, TAC both secure a narrow 1-0 win

KATHMANDU: League leader Signature Manang Marsyangdi Club (MMC) and Tribhuvan Army Club (TAC) registered a narrow 1-0 victory during their Pulsar Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League in Kathmandu today.

Signature MMC beat Machhindra Club and TAC edged Brigade Boys Club at the ANFA Complex Ground in Satdobato, Lalitpur on Monday.

With today's win, MMC remained unbeaten in the ongoing league and lead the 14-team table with 21 points from seven games.  TAC climbed to fourth in the table on 17 points behind Three Star and Sankata.

Machhindra Club goalkeeper Deep Karki made some brilliant saves to keep MMC at bay, however, as the game was heading for a stalemate, substitute player Afeez Olawale struck in the 85th minute of the game.

Later, MC keeper Deep Karki was awarded man of the match for his brilliant performance between the sticks.

Likewise, in another game of the day, departmental team TAC rode on Tanka Bahadur Basnet's 66th-minute header to defeat struggling Brigade Boys Club at the ANFA Ground.

TAC's Tek Bahadur Budathoki won the man of the match award and bagged a cash purse of RS 10,000.

In another round of matches on December 13, bottom team NRT will take on Saraswati Youth Club in an early kickoff at 11:00 am, APF Club will meet Jawalakhel Youth Club before Sankata square off against Himalayan Sherpa Club in the late kickoff at 2:30 pm.
