KATHMANDU: The Manang Marsyangdi Club on Saturday thrashed Tribhuvan Army Club 5-0 in the final of the fifth Manakamana Cable Car Pokhara Club played at the Pokhara Stadium in Kaski.

The winners MMC  received a purse of Rs 505,555 as the prize while  the runners-up TAC were restricted to Rs 255,555.

Skipper Anil Gurung and forward Afeez Olawale scored two goals each for the victorious club while Sujal Shrestha also registered a goal in his name.

The first two goals by Gurung were scored in the first 10 minutes of the match. He was later declared the Man of the Match as well as the Best Player of the tournament.

All of the goals were scored in the first half.

Shrestha had scored in the 29th minute while Olawale had kicked in the 34th minute and the fourth minute of the added injury time.

Total 12 teams including the national A division clubs had participated in the tournament.
