LALITPUR: Modern Indian School and St Xavier’s Schools won their matches of the 23rd Father Moran Memorial Invitational Football Tournament here on Tuesday.

In the day’s first match, Jhapa-based Moran Memorial played a goalless draw with Vidhya Sanskar School. Likewise, MIS defeated Crescent Academy 3-2.

Jenish Duwadi netted a brace and Rojan Bajracharya scored one for MIS, while Sujal Tamang and Riyas Lama replied for Crescent. In another match, hosts St Xavier’s Godavari outplayed DAV Sushil Kedia Vishwa Bharati Higher Secondary School 5-1.

Manik Chaudhari and Abhishek Lo scored two goals each and Subhay Maharjan netted one for the winning team, while Alvin Maharjan scored the consolation goal for DAV.

Yuvaraj Rajbanshi of Moran Memorial, Bedraj Dhungana of MIS and Manik Chaudhari of SXG won the player-of-the-match awards.
