LALITPUR: District Main Dojo Lalitpur on Saturday honoured karate players Mukunda Maharjan and Jyoti Giri with the Lalitpur Karate Player of the Year Awards.

Maharjan had completed a hat-trick of gold medals in the National Games, while Giri had won silver medal during the Central Region selection event for the National Games.

The dojo also honoured karate player and coach Biplav Lal Shrestha with Special Award for winning bronze in the Thailand Open Karate Championship in April.

All three karatekas received Rs 10,000 each along with appreciation letters.

Lawmaker Madan Bahadur Amatya, former Treasurer of National Sports Council Min Krishna Maharjan, Dojo President and Nepal National and International Players Association President Deepak Shrestha handed over the awards to the karatekas.
