Nabin wins Table Tennis gold medal

KATHMANDU: Nabin Bahadur Shakya of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) defeated Ramesh Tuladhar of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) 3-2 to win the men's singles table tennis gold at the first Inter-Enterprises Sports Tournaments here on Friday.

In men's doubles final, Ramesh teamed up with Bidhya Bikram Jabegu to beat Pradeep Upadhyay and Sanu Bhakta Shrestha of Nepal Telecom 3-2. Anju Adhikari and Sharada Bhattarai of NEA won the ladies doubles gold medal with a 3-1 win over fellow teammates Rajani Baidhya and Mina Kadariya.

Shanti Singh of National Sports Council and NEA's Anju made it to the women's singles final in badminton. Raju Maharjan of NEA and Chandra Shekhar Lama of Nepal Bank entered the men's singles final. NEA’s Anju and Shanti Laxmi Shakya advanced to the women's doubles final and will face Guddi Karki and Sabina Pradhan of Nepal Telecom. Sudip Budhathoki and Surendra Raj Baniya of NTV entered the men's doubles final along with NEA's Raju Maharjan and Umesh Kumar Bhandari.

Chandra Shekhar and Birendra Lal Shrestha of NEA advanced to the veteran's singles final, while Nepal Bhushan Gouli and Anil Kumar Upadhyay set up an all-Agriculture Development Bank final in executive category.

In chess, Madan Bir Singh Dangol of Nepal Bank took lead with 4.5 points. Bikash Man Lama and Tri-Ratna Shakya of NEA, Suman Kumar Baidhya of NAC and Purna Kumar Shrestha of Nepal Telecom have four points each.
