Nagarkoti & Team wins Scramble Golf
KATHMANDU: Salt Trading Corporation team lead by pro Ramesh Nagarkoti won the Kathmandu Scramble Golf Tournament here at the Royal Nepal Golf Club (RNGC) in Kathmandu on Saturday.
Nagarkoti's team, which also included amateurs Rajendra Man Serchan, Kiran Samsher Thapa and Vinod SJB Rana, edged past Beesants Trading Co in playoff after being tied at 56 points in regular play. Professional golfer Pashupati Sharma led the Beesants team which also included amateurs KC Kayastha, Robin Rana and Kishan Agrawal. Nagarkoti's team beat the Sharma team in the third hole playoff. Sharma also had a hole-in-one at 12.
The team of Gorkha Brewery led by pro Rajan Thapa finished third with scores of 57 points in the tournament played on a stroke play format. The best three cards of a team accounted for the team total.
Professional golfers of the top three teams received Rs 32,000, Rs 22,000 and Rs 18,000 respectively. Other team’s professional golfers also received their share of cash prizes. Sharma also got additional Rs 3,000 for his remarkable hole-in-one. In all 14 teams took part in the annuanl event.
