Naren Gurung clinched the title of the Cosmos inter-club snooker championship defeating Nitesh More 4-3 sets here on Sunday.

Naren — who lost first two frames 34-50 and 32-52 — won the third frame 56-28. Naren failed to continue his good run and lost the fourth frame 12-66.

Naren Gurung, then started to play firmly and won three consecutive frames to clinch the title 4-3. He won the fifth frame 57-20, sixth 53-35 and last 50-28.

Naren, taking advantage of his opponent’s foul in the sixth set never looked back and became the Cosmos snooker champion. In all, 29 players participated in the championship organised by Cosmos Solarium. The winner and the runner-up were awarded one-year and six-month free membership respectively along with trophies. Naren, who broke 29 points also bagged the highest breakers’ award. Bala Gurung, Brand Manager of Surya Tobacco Company gave away prizes to the winners.
